Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional nursing care and support to our clients with developmental disabilities, ensuring their health and well-being. This role involves working closely with clients, their families, and our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care plans tailored to each individual's needs.
Client Care: Provide direct nursing care to clients with developmental disabilities, including administering medications, monitoring health status, and performing routine health assessments.
Care Planning: Collaborate with our team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each client.
Health Monitoring: Conduct regular health check-ups and assessments to monitor the progress and well-being of clients, identifying any changes or concerns that require attention.
Family Support: Educate and support clients’ families and caregivers, offering guidance on health management and best practices for care at home.
Documentation:
Maintain
accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all aspects of client care and any significant changes in their condition.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, therapists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
Compliance: Ensure that all nursing practices comply with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
Training and Development:
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in nursing and developmental disabilities care.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Licensure: Current and valid licensure in the state of Nebraska.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Skills:
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred
Working Conditions:
PRN schedule with flexible hours, as needed based on client demand. Required to attend on-site meetings and training as scheduled.
May require occasional evening or weekend work.
Ability to lift and move patients as necessary.
Must be able to travel between client homes and our facility if required.
