Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance and engineering operations at our property. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of all hotel systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building automation.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the engineering and maintenance staff.
Perform regular inspections of the hotel facilities to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to prolong the life of equipment and systems.
Respond to guest requests and resolve maintenance-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Manage the budget for the engineering department, including expenses, purchases, and capital projects.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for employees and guests.
Oversee contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety.
Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Proven track record of managing budgets and controlling costs effectively.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
