Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct the search for a Director of Philanthropy on behalf of our client, a leading healthcare education institution. This key role focuses on cultivating meaningful donor relationships, advancing philanthropic engagement, and securing critical support to drive student success and institutional growth. This is a direct-hire position.
Location:
The position is based in Florida, with preference for candidates located in or near Melbourne (home of the campus), Orlando, Tampa, or other major cities within the region. The ideal candidate will be regionally based and able to travel to meet with donors and attend events throughout Florida. Regular in-person engagement within the community and donor network is a key component of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a robust portfolio of major and principal gift prospects; research and close significant donations.
- Execute strategic donor cultivation and stewardship plans, including annual giving, planned gifts, employee giving, and public appeals.
- Support alumni and stakeholder engagement initiatives, incorporating parents, friends, and community partners.
- Manage donor communications across multiple channels: newsletters, social media, reports, public speaking, and storytelling.
- Oversee social media presence and website content related to fundraising efforts, coordinating with marketing teams.
- Research and apply for grants; administer grant funds and maintain grantor relationships.
- Plan and execute cultivation and stewardship events to deepen donor relationships.
- Maintain donor databases and generate regular performance reports.
- Represent the organization at events and meetings with donors and partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred.
- Experience in healthcare or educational nonprofit fundraising strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with donor management software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Compensation:
This position offers an annual salary between $120,000-$150,000, depending on experience, in addition to a full benefits package.
