We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our energy company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in processing payroll for both union and non-union employees, with a deep understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), timekeeping systems, and payroll compliance. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as union contract stipulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly/bi-weekly/monthly payroll for union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Interpret and apply union contract language (e.g., wage rates, shift differentials, overtime rules, dues deductions).
- Maintain and audit employee time records from automated timekeeping systems.
- Work closely with union representatives, HR, and labor relations to ensure compliance with CBAs.
- Reconcile payroll reports, verify earnings, deductions, and benefits contributions.
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and distribute reports for internal stakeholders, auditors, and government agencies.
- Resolve employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist in year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and reporting.
- Stay updated on changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and union agreements.
Education & Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years of union payroll experience.
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or construction industry preferred.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, SAP, Oracle, UKG).
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local wage & hour laws.
- Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and union rules.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Office environment; hybrid or on-site depending on company policy.
- Occasional overtime may be required during payroll deadlines or audits.
