Jira Administrator – Contract (Standardization & Cleanup Project)
Location: On-site in Mesquite, TX (just outside Dallas)
U.S. Citizens only
4-month contract (with potential extension based on project needs)
Project Overview:
We're seeking an experienced Jira Consultant to lead a critical standardization and cleanup initiative. You’ll be the go-to expert for optimizing Jira structure, cleaning legacy items, and implementing best practices across multiple teams.
The goal is to simplify, standardize, and future-proof Jira so the organization can move faster and with greater visibility.
Responsibilities:
- Audit current Jira setup and identify redundancies or inefficiencies
- Standardize workflows, screens, statuses, and fields
- Create and roll out global templates and playbooks for new project creation
- Execute bulk operations to clean up legacy data and improve metric accuracy
- Build and automate cross-project reporting and dashboards for:
- Sprint progress
- Defect tracking
- Team productivity
- Release planning
- Implement automations to streamline repetitive tasks and improve reliability
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure Jira meets operational needs
Ideal Background:
- Proven experience with Jira administration and standardization projects
- Strong understanding of Agile practices and cross-functional team collaboration
- Ability to communicate clearly and document best practices
- Experience performing bulk operations, report automation, and dashboarding
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight
- Comfortable working on a contract basis with well-defined deliverables
