Controls Technician
Location: Holland, MI
Shift: 1st shift
Pay: $25-$33/hour based on experience
20% travel
Responsibilities-
• As a Controls Electrician, you’ll be involved in deploying and supporting instrumentation systems that help our customers ‘take the guesswork out of casting.’ You will be the bridge between ideas and reality
• System Development and Maintenance
• Build, inspect, and repair measurement systems, including laser engraving and soldering components
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues
• Calibrate sensors and systems for accuracy and reliability
• Design and construct electrical panels
• Conduct system testing to ensure functionality and quality
• Customer Support
• Provide troubleshooting assistance for electrical and automation issues
• Design and Documentation
• Create and update simple electrical schematics
• Source and procure electrical and mechanical components, including identifying alternatives when needed
• Manage project Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated documentation
• System Installation and Configuration
• Oversee system installation at customer sites
• Configure OPC (e.g., KepwareEX) systems for seamless integration
• Travel to customer locations – up to 20%
Qualifications-
• 3–7 years of experience in controls
• Proficient in PLC communication protocols and ladder logic programming
• Skilled in creating and interpreting electrical schematics
• Strong knowledge and experience with low-voltage systems, including troubleshooting and diagnosis
• Competence in operating hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and fault-testing devices
• Basic computer proficiency
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects
• Excellent analytical, facilitation, and organizational capabilities
• Ability to Commute:
• Holland, MI: Relocate before starting work (Required)
