Overview: We are seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to lead the Emergency Department in Houston, TX. The hospital has a strong history of providing exceptional care to the community and is a part of a leading healthcare provider network. The Director will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department through effective management, resource allocation, and personnel development.
Responsibilities: The Director of Emergency Services will play a crucial role in identifying and solving problems affecting the department, participating in committees, advancing the patient experience agenda, coaching subordinates, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. They will also build relationships, contribute to employee engagement practices, enforce care standards, and oversee a performance improvement program. Additionally, they will support the recruitment process and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of recent acute care director experience in an emergency services unit or strong ER manager experience is required. The candidate should have experience in a sizeable ED with a minimum of 28 ER beds and familiarity with a level 4 trauma center.
- A BSN is required, and a Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice is required, along with ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and BLS certifications.
Additional Information:
- The hospital has 273 beds with a Level IV trauma designation and 28 ER beds.
- Patient volume ranges from 130-160 per day, with a mixed acuity level.
- Reporting structure includes oversight of an ED analyst, manager, and potential future hires.
Compensation:
- Salary ranges from a minimum of $110k to a maximum of $120k, dependent on experience.

Shift: This is a full-time position with a 24-hour responsibility, and weekends are not required.
