What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced House Supervisor-Community Living position at The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region?
Position Summary:
The Community Living Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of his/her assigned houses or individuals within the Residential or Personal Support Services department, the supervision of the staff providing direct supports to the individuals within those houses or areas and the coordination of all services and aspects of the individuals’ lives on their caseload.
Position Responsibilities:
In a manner consistent with supporting The Arc NCR Mission Statement the Community Living Supervisor shall do the following:
- Supervise, train, hire, and manage direct support professionals.
- Provides regular supervision and annual evaluation of the performance of direct support professionals.
- Completes monthly employee rounding and provides results to the program Director.
- Provides ongoing mentoring for direct support professionals in all areas of service delivery, including but not limited to, communication, networking, and supports.
- Is available to provide on-call supports to direct support professionals.
- Completes, maintains, and submits required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensures that all Person Centered Plans are completed according to The Arc NCR policy and that they are fully implemented by staff.
- Ensures that all medical and clinical appointments are completed and documented.
- Schedules staff to provide supports as required by the individuals IP.
- Organizes and monitors house activity schedules.
- Provides advocacy for individuals served based on their personal choice.
- Identifies informal supports available in the community for individuals served
- Keeps current and accurate individual records, case files, record notes and medical records.
- Facilitates team meetings and family conferences to problem solve and develop plans of action as needed.
- Provide direct support as necessary.
- Keeps houses within budgeted expenditures and develop programming that ensures budgeted revenues are obtained.
- Monitors and supports individuals served in managing PUF accounts.
- Assures that staffing and schedules are in place which limits staff overtime.
Education, Training and Experience:
- One to two (1-2) years of experience in the human services field; Residential or Personal Support preferred.
- At least two (2) of supervisory or peer training experience in a Residential environment.
- High School Diploma required; Associates (AA) or Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree’s preferred.
- AA may substitute for two years of human services experience; BA/BS may substitute for 4 human services years of experience.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Other Requirements
- Access to reliable transportation
- Active valid driver’s license and driving record that has no more than two (2) points.
- Maintenance of all required trainings under DDA guidelines and The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region policies and procedures
- Flexibility of scheduling to meet agency and program needs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $54,000.00 per year
