Scrum Master
Responsibilities
- Facilitate multiple Scrum teams; work on products, strategic projects, internal projects, application maintenance, and other software development initiatives.
- Guide the teams and organization in cultivating the Agile Mindset; integrate frameworks/practices as needed to leverage Agile best practices and values to maximize the delivery of business value.
- Track and leverage key metrics and tools to champion the teams’ health, product delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate teams in applying self-organizing and self-corrective behaviors including analyzing and adapting to feedback from metrics, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement.
- Remove impediments for the teams.
- Build a trusting environment where issues are raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged; with an emphasis on correcting and problem-solving.
- Assist with internal and external team communication; improve transparency and the teams’ ability to radiate information.
- Facilitate team ceremonies and events to ensure participation from all team members at Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives), as well as long-term planning exercises (road-mapping and release planning).
- Facilitate team conversations and work sessions to achieve consensus from divergent opinions.
- Take a leadership role in ensuring that issues are resolved or organizational impediments escalated in a timely and satisfactory manner, working effectively with resources both on and outside the Scrum team.
