At UConn Health, the Child and Family Studies Department seeks to fill 2 grant funded, Special Payroll Research Assistant 2 positions in the A.J. Pappanikou University Program for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD).
*******THESE ARE TWO TEMPORARY, GRANT FUNDED POSITIONS ******
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the close supervision of an employee of higher grade; works more independently with acquired experience
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May lead paraprofessional clerical or other lower ranking employees as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Accountable for performing research related support tasks for assigned research projects/programs or segments of programs/projects, under the supervision of higher level employee
Conducts literature reviews
Performs data entry and analysis
Performs a range of related duties in conducting applied research
Provides support in evaluation for training and technical assistance activities
Receives assignments in designated research protocols, procedures, techniques and equipment
Supports staff in preparation of manuscripts for publication, including, but not limited to copy editing, preparation of tables and graphs
Performs related duties as required
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
General Experience:
Bachelors degree in Public Health, Special Education or a related field. Degrees in other areas may be substituted on a case by case basis.
Special Requirements:
Experience conducting research
Experience with data management
Experience with IRB submissions and grant funded programs involving diverse populations
Experience in Early Childhood Intervention for children with disabilities and their families
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the field of disabilities
Basic knowledge of research protocols, principles and procedures
Good oral and written communication skills
Considerable knowledge of higher education
HOURLY RATE: $33.00 NO BENEFITS.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per wk, Mon - Fri, 8:00 am 4:30 pm with a 30 minute unpaid meal break
