Job Description
The person in this part time Interlibrary Loan (ILL) position will retrieve materials from the Ellis Library stacks and scan and process them to fill ILL requests.
Key Job Duties include:
- Pull requested items from the Ellis Library book stacks
- Scan and edit the image of the requested articles or book chapters
- Deliver the scanned materials to users through the online system
- Trouble-shoot and re-send the requested item if problems with first attempt
- Assist in unpacking received materials
Salary
Hiring Salary: $12.85 per hour
Grade: GGS-005

Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six months of library experience. Directly related education or training may be substituted for experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain issues clearly and work to satisfactorily resolve problems.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work with others collaboratively and respectfully.
- Ability to exercise discretion and judgment including handling confidential patron information.
- Competence using computer software and equipment.
- This position requires some physical stamina and involves moving materials and related physical actions part of the workday. Must be able to move fully loaded book trucks (at least 200 lbs.). Must be able to read call numbers on books located on shelves at ground level and up to nine feet in height and where lighting is diminished; ladders and footstools are available.
