Do you enjoy interacting with people? Keystone Base Area Services is looking for highly motivated guest service personnel who are eager to join a team of like minded individuals. Our Base Area Services Team prides itself on facilitating well organized plans, which assure a quality arrival and departure experience for guests, when they choose to visit our resort.
In this position you will prepare the base area in anticipation of the day’s challenges. Applicants must be early risers willing to mitigate safety issues which include shoveling, salt-sand spreading and parking lot preparation. Applicants with heavy equipment experience may qualify for additional responsibilities at an increased wage. When our guests arrive, you will be directing traffic, answering any questions, and making sure the first impression of Keystone is positive, energetic, and fun.
We are looking for team members who can keep their cool during busy mornings, are able to meet a high standard of presentation including having a clean uniform every day, and who want to learn more about the resort and base area operations business in preparation for a potential career in the hospitality market.
This is a position that will provide the opportunity to ski or ride every day and the schedule accommodates students with afternoon/evening classes. In return, we ask for your commitment through the season and an ability to work at least 20 hours/week.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Snow removal
- Directing cars
- Greeting guests and providing resort information
- Assist with busy Ski and Ride School program days
- Preparing parking lots for guests each morning – removing any trash, spreading sand/salt to help keep employees and guests safe
- Supporting other base area departments as needed including Security, Roads, Environmental, and Transportation operations.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to stand outside in inclement weather for long periods of time
- Valid Driver’s License
- Previous guest service experience - preferred
- May lift up to 50 lbs., assistance is available for heavy lifting.
- Must be able to make quick decisions regarding safety.
- Must be able to maintain control and rational demeanor in emotionally charged situations involving guests and/or employees.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
