Classification: Intern, Non-Exempt, 20 hrs/wk

MINISTRY AREA PURPOSE:
Support Ministries exists to serve the body of Westwood with innovation, transparency and objectivity.
ROLE:
Assist the Finance Manager to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to the Pastors/Directors and Leadership Board on a monthly and annual basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Complete month-end and year-end journal entries and reconciliations.
· Make entries into accounting system as directed by Finance Manager.
· Assist the Finance Manager regarding software and process training to Westwood staff.
· Work closely with the Finance Manager to prepare the annual budget.
· Gather and summarize information for the annual audit.
· Support Accounting Associates and Finance Manager with project work and filing requirements.
· Support Finance Manager in volunteer recruitment, scheduling, training, and relationship building.
· Support Accounting Associates with workflow/back-up when necessary.
· Learn and utilize department software including Church Community Builder, Sage Intacct, Square, Pushpay, and Martus.
· Attend and participate in All-Staff and department training and development opportunities.

RELATIONSHIPS:
· Reports to Finance Manager
· Collaborates with Accounting Associates
· Works in cooperation with all staff as warranted
· Interacts with leadership, staff, congregation, donors, vendors, and volunteers
Requirements
· One to three years accounting experience with accrual-based accounting or pursing accounting secondary education
· Organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
· Ability to work under deadlines and maintain attention to detail
· Good communications skills
· Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Ability to relate to other Westwood staff and church attenders at large
· Endorse and support Westwood’s Statement of Faith and traditional orthodox theology
· Remain a member in good standing of Westwood Community Church
