Classification: Intern, Part-Time, 20 hrs/wk, Non-Exempt, 1-year commitment

Ministry Area Purpose:
The Next Generation Ministry exists to partner with parents to help children and students (birth through college) become followers of Jesus and know they are loved by God, empowered by His Spirit, and called to share Jesus with the world around them.
Role:
Intentionally invest in gaining experience and knowledge for professional, personal, and spiritual development.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with planning and execution of Kids Ministry programs on Sundays for birth-5th grade, holidays, and special events
· Recruit, train, equip, and encourage campus Kids Ministry Team volunteers
· Participate in Kids Ministry staff meetings and work closely with other members of the Kids Ministry Team for cohesive ministry implementation
· Maintain safety and security policies and procedures
· Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
· Align to and live out the Westwood Way of Life
Requirements
· Someone who lives a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Jesus
· In process of pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
· Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Experience with planning large-scale events
· Desire and ability to actively engage children and effectively interact with volunteers and parents
· Ability to attract, equip, resource, and mobilize a diverse group of volunteers
· A posture of teachability and adaptability
· Ability to meet deadlines and work with a team
· Endorse and support Westwood’s Statement of Faith
· Agreement with Westwood's vision, values, and beliefs
