Automation Site Coordinator

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Automation Site Coordinator with a strong background in construction and electrical systems to support field operations and automation implementation across multiple projects. This role focuses on overseeing electrical and control components during the construction phase, including the maintenance of instrumentation panels, and coordinating on-site activities to ensure systems are installed, tested, and operational to specification.
On-Site Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead technical expert for electrical and automation systems throughout active job sites.
- Manage and maintain instrumentation panels, ensuring performance, compliance, and reliability.
- Monitor project progress, report on cost and scope changes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide hands-on technical support during plant commissioning, including troubleshooting, operator training, and warranty follow-up.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with site and company protocols.
- Resolve on-site issues related to network topology, power distribution, automation controls, and electrical performance.
Off-Site Responsibilities:
- Provide remote support to field teams and stakeholders as needed to ensure smooth operations and quick resolution of technical issues.
- Assist with technical coordination and project communication to align construction, electrical, and automation deliverables.
- Participate in planning discussions and offer expert feedback on implementation readiness and field logistics.
General Duties:
- Act as a key contributor to the Automation Team, ensuring quality execution of field automation projects.
- Mentor junior technicians and field engineers, promoting operational excellence and technical accuracy.
- Support internal and client meetings to track project milestones and resolve field-related concerns efficiently.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of hands-on experience working with electrical systems, automation, or instrumentation in a construction environment.
- Proven experience with maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation panels and electrical control systems.
- Strong working knowledge of P&IDs, schematics, and electrical documentation.
- Familiarity with PLCs, power distribution, and industrial automation components.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced, field-based environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and technical reporting tools.
Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including both domestic and international assignments depending on project locations.
