What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extrusion Operator position at XL Pro Staffing and Consulting Group?
Pay: 17.75/HR
Schedule:
A-Shift: Sun-Tue, e/o Sat
C-Shift: Thursday-Saturday, e/o Wed
Position Description:
- Understand and follow safe work practices
- Bring materials to the production line by using a sit-down forklift
- Check resin levels and check and verify silo connections at start of shift against the work order to ensure correct resin usage
- Assist with changeovers, start-ups, and shut-downs
- Web the extrusion line and know the difference between the various resins and additives, and the effects each one has on the product/production
- Change the resin name and percentage on the blenders for mono line and co-ex
- Bring up extrusion lines without assistance
- Adjust air rings to stabilize bubbles and gauge, and the temperature profile for different resin formulas
- Troubleshoot the corona treaters and adjust accordingly
- Know when the appearance of a film is good or bad. EX: die lines, melt fracture, etc.
- Troubleshoot chiller system (start up in case of power failure); adjust temperature on chill rolls
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 years of work experience
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to do basic math and read a tape measure
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods on hard surfaces
- Ability to climb up to 60 feet up the ladder stairs
- Ability to perform in an environment that is not climate-controlled
