The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including but not limited to Level I and Level II trauma centers, outpatient facilities, geriatrics, and teaching hospitals. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while promoting their independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Help patients with mobility and transportation needs within the facility or during outings.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in creating personalized care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Support patients in rehabilitation exercises as directed by medical staff.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while providing care.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Experience in emergency medicine or hospital medicine is a plus.
- Familiarity with pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) procedures is beneficial.
- Ability to work compassionately with geriatric populations and understand their unique needs.
- Proficiency in basic medical terminology related to trauma centers and outpatient care settings.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining patient records and care documentation.
