Under general direction, you
- Perform administrative and legal secretarial support functions for assigned counsel.
- Prepare, proofread, and edit sensitive documents, including subpoenas, motions, continuances, and other related legal documents, for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures and standards.
- Perform general office duties including filing, answering phone calls, and greeting visitors.
- Perform work that requires considerable initiative, independent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality often in stressful situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- At least two (2) years of experience performing various legal administrative assistance, legal secretarial, or related duties; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute. Keyboarding and clerical testing will be conducted during the interview process for selected candidates.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Legal and/or court experience.
- Post-secondary education in a legal field.
