Job Summary
The District Attorney"s Office, Division of Child Support Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Legal Secretary in the Hinesville Liberty County Office. This office is a "contract" office with the District Attorney"s Office through the Department of Human Services, Division of Child Support Services.
Georgia"s Division of Child Support Services program provides resources to ensure parental obligations for child support are met that will result in the wellbeing of children and the self-sufficiency of families. DCSS promotes family stability based on the fundamental rights and needs of children. Major Job Duties
The Legal Secretary is responsible for processing legal documents for court order establishment and contempt actions, obtaining the Attorneys" signature, filing all legal actions with the Clerk of Courts in six counties, securing court dates for the Judges, submitting process service forms to the appropriate County Sheriff, and following up on status of service. Additional duties may include but are not limited to providing support and administrative assistance to Child Support Service Officers.
Note: Child Support Service Officers maintain close interaction with Judges, law enforcement, and other officials. As such, excellent corporate communication skills (demeanor, speech, written) and a professional image are prerequisites. The Legal Secretary position offers a challenging opportunity for an organized, methodical, self-motivated, results oriented individual to work in a professional fast paced, high volume legal environment. The successful candidate will work closely with team members, attorneys, and court personnel. Knowledge, Skills, and Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma (or GED) AND two years of work experience in an office setting that involved review of legal documents and use of technology hardware and software applications typically used in a legal office environment. Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $26,000. Work hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday - Friday.
