CSP's HR Recruiting Practice has partnered with an independently owned small business servicing the Mid-Atlantic region in their search for a HR Generalist. This is a newly created role and the individual will work in lock-step with the Senior HR Generalist in supporting various aspects of human resources operations, with a focus on providing HRIS support and ensuring its effective utilization within the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
HR Administration and Support:
- Assist the Senior HR Generalist with various HR administrative tasks, including employee data management, onboarding, offboarding, and file maintenance.
- Provide support to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits inquiries.
HRIS Support and Data Management:
- Serve as a point of contact for HRIS-related inquiries and support requests from employees and HR team members.
- Assist with HRIS data entry, updates, and maintenance to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Recruitment Support:
- Assist the Senior HR Generalist in recruitment efforts, including developing/updating job descriptions, screening resumes, arranging interviews, conducting reference checks, and collaborating with hiring managers.
Training and Development Support:
- Support training and development initiatives, including tracking compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and certifications.
Employee Relations Assistance:
- Handle employment-related inquiries and attend disciplinary meetings, terminations, investigations, and union grievances as directed by the Senior HR Generalist.
Compensation and Benefits Support:
- Assist with compensation-related activities, such as new hire offers, salary increases, and benefits administration.
Compliance and Reporting Assistance:
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including EEO and affirmative action reporting, and assist in policy reviews to maintain compliance.
Performance and Talent Management Assistance:
- Support performance and talent management development and administration initiatives.
Orientation and Onboarding Oversight:
- Assist in implementing new hire orientation and employee recognition programs, oversee background checks, and utilize HRIS tools for onboarding.
Knowledge Maintenance:
- Stay updated on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience with HRIS administration, configuration, and optimization, preferably with Paylocity.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze data, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and support users at all levels of the organization.
- Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
