What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Defense Attorney position at Law Firms?
Employment Defense Attorney - San Diego - Hybrid then Remote after 90 days.
Salary: $200,000 to $250,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage a full spectrum of employment defense litigation matters—from pre-litigation strategic planning through trial or arbitration.
- Conduct and coordinate depositions, discovery, motion practice (e.g., summary judgment, demurrers), and hearings.
- Serve as counsel of record, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and strong advocacy.
- Present arguments in court, mediations, and labor agency proceedings, displaying courtroom readiness.
- Partner with senior litigators to refine case strategy and manage client communication with clarity and confidence.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree and active admission to the California Bar.
- 3 to 7 years of Employment Defense experience
- Eagerness to learn from seasoned practitioners in a boutique setting that values close collaboration and individualized career growth.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The annual salary for this position is between $200,000 to $250,000 -- Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
