Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly as they arrive at the facility.

  • Verify patient information and insurance details accurately during check-in.

  • Collect co-payments and outstanding balances as applicable.

  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing them to the appropriate department or individual.

  • Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and other staff members courteously and efficiently.

  • Coordinate scheduling of appointments, consultations, and follow-up visits.

  • Reschedule appointments as needed and manage cancellations effectively.

  • Update and file patient records accurately, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

  • Retrieve and prepare medical records for appointments and referrals.

  • Verify insurance coverage for patients and obtain necessary authorizations.

  • Assist with insurance billing processes, including coding and claim submission.

  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical office administration is preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable.

  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance protocols is beneficial.

  • Customer service-oriented attitude with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.


Pay Details:
$18.00 to $20.00 per hour
