Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly as they arrive at the facility.
Verify patient information and insurance details accurately during check-in.
Collect co-payments and outstanding balances as applicable.
Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing them to the appropriate department or individual.
Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and other staff members courteously and efficiently.
Coordinate scheduling of appointments, consultations, and follow-up visits.
Reschedule appointments as needed and manage cancellations effectively.
Update and file patient records accurately, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Retrieve and prepare medical records for appointments and referrals.
Verify insurance coverage for patients and obtain necessary authorizations.
Assist with insurance billing processes, including coding and claim submission.
Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical office administration is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance protocols is beneficial.
Customer service-oriented attitude with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
Pay Details: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
