Essential Duties:
- Patient Coordination: Greet patients, manage the check-in/check-out process, and monitor the reception area flow.
- Communication: Answer incoming calls, route inquiries, and schedule appointments with a professional and helpful demeanor.
- Clinical Support: Call in prescriptions to pharmacies and obtain necessary authorizations for medical tests.
- Records & Finance: Accurately update patient demographics and insurance information in the EMR, collect co-pays, and balance daily deposits.
- Documentation: Prepare patient charts, print necessary forms, and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately.
- Compliance: Maintain a clean and professional environment in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards (OSHA, TJC, etc.).
- Education: Training in business office activities, computer skills, or medical terminology.
- Experience: Previous medical receptionist experience is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong understanding of EMR systems.
- Professionalism: Exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve effectively.
