Essential Duties:
- Patient Care: Create a welcoming environment and room patients efficiently using two-patient identifiers.
- Clinical Support: Obtain and record vital signs, chief complaints, medications, and allergies accurately in the EMR.
- Lab Coordination: Collect and prepare specimens for transport following strict safety and identification protocols.
- Communication: Promptly report critical lab values, adverse reactions, and pertinent patient information to the physician.
- Administrative Excellence: Assist with scheduling, phone inquiries, and medical record maintenance.
- Compliance: Ensure all practice processes meet the standards of regulatory agencies while advocating for patient rights.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a diploma.
- Certification: Must maintain an active credential (or be eligible to obtain) through one of the following:
- RMA (American Medical Technologists)
- CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
- CCMA (National Healthcareer Association)
- Life Safety: Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a diploma.
- Active certification through one of the following:
- RMA (American Medical Technologists)
- CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
- CCMA (National Healthcareer Association)
- Minimum of one (1) year of direct work experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
