What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dollar Mountain Snowmaker position at Sun Valley Resort?
Dollar Mountain Snowmakers are responsible for the safe operation of the Snowmaking system. When conditions permit, this is done around the clock. Operations include physically checking snowguns and traveling by foot, snowmobile, snowcat, snowboard or skis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor snowguns by physical inspection
- Operate pumphouse and perform routine inspections frequently
- Safely travel via snowmobile, snowcat, snowboard or skis
- Follow daily plans and instructions to ensure targets and goals are being met in a safe and efficient manner
- Snow removal either manually, with a snowblower or plow
- Operate with and assist other departments in daily operations as needed
Qualifications:
- A passion for the outdoors
- Basic computer skills
- Proven success as a team player
- Be able to read, write and understand English
- Be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to enjoy working outside in all conditions
- Be able to work either day shift (8 am – 4 pm), swing shift (4 pm – 12 am) or graveyard shift (12 am – 8 am)
- A current U.S. driver's license is required
