Additional Working Conditions
Serves as ancillary technical support within University Advancement, augmenting the work of the Manager of Advancement IT (and Senior Programmer Analyst if present) for information technology initiatives of the division. The incumbent shall serve as a member of the division’s technical team for its CRM software and associated software platforms, services, and mobile and online tools; and shall develop, test, deploy, implement, and manage technology deliverables intended to support alumni and development objectives. The incumbent shall serve as the backup for the Manager of Advancement IT (and Senior Programmer Analyst if present) as needed and per request of the Senior Director of Advancement Services. The incumbent shall work closely and collaboratively with colleagues within University Advancement, Information Technology Services (ITS), and respective software vendors to help meet the division’s technical objectives. The incumbent shall demonstrate technical proficiency, ingenuity, and dependability along with the ability to: work effectively both as a team member and independently; handle multiple complex projects simultaneously; competently judge when to be self-sufficient or request assistance; demonstrate effective time management; communicate effectively, articulately, and amicably with both technical and non-technical staff.

Assists in the development of technology-related initiatives for the Advancement division in pursuit of the division’s objectives. Works collaboratively with the Advancement IT staff,
ITS, and other technical stakeholders on Advancement information technology projects. Collects specifications for, develops, tests, implements, and manages deliverables such as but not limited to: CRM functionality, third-party software functionality, data migration, platform integrations, reports, dashboards, security enhancements, and mobile and online functionality to support the Advancement division’s objectives. Works with relational databases in either Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL using Power BI, SSRS, and other reporting environments as needed. Programs complex queries in SQL for respective environments.

Works with complex data files to import/export data into/from the CRM or other data repositories as needed. Produces user-friendly reports and or Excel spreadsheets of CRM and/or associated data for various needs on data involving, but not limited to: fundraising performance, solicitor performance, prospect research, relationship management, donor biographical and giving, and marketing and communication initiatives.
