Job Description
Seeking an innovative and highly motivated team player to perform and be responsible for maintenance, repair, and inspection of utilities electronic/electrical equipment and control devices such as digital and analog control systems, wired and wireless telemetry systems, motor control systems, pumps and motor systems, and chemical feed systems for the Lake Gaston Water Treatment Plant and Northwest River Water Treatment Plant.
Applicant should be capable of troubleshooting problems with related tools and equipment in order to determine procedures for required maintenance.
Applicant should possess the skills to calibrate, replace, clean and/or repair related equipment and systems.
Applicant should be able to order and maintain parts inventory for use in repair of equipment.
Applicant should be able to prepare files and reports including records of repair and maintenance work completed.
Applicant should be able to ensure all equipment meets given codes and guidelines.
Applicant will assist with the maintenance and repair of:
o Motor control centers
o Pumps
o Motors
o Related mechanical equipment
Applicant should be proficient with operating computers.
Applicant must be able to perform and work at heights such as on elevated water storage tank structures.

Applicant will be required to perform related tasks as necessary to ensure department fulfills all required tasking.
Be able to perform Stand by duties as assigned.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Note:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of, and/or outside of, their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires an associate’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience in electronics or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of one year of full-time equivalent experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City Driving Standards.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
