What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at StevenDouglas?
- Oversite of the GL month-end and year-end closing process
- Implement best practices for the GAAP accounting close process; work with both internal and external partners to drive process improvements
- Lead the annual external audit
- Responsible for Collections, AR, AP, cash management, and other accounting policies and ensure compliance with those policies
- Collaborate with various leaders throughout the organization and provide data-driven metrics and recommendations to help improve performance
- Responsible for the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and strategic planning processes
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial presentations for the leadership team and BOD
- Ensure compliance with bank covenants including preparation and submission of all compliance reports
- Participate in other ad-hoc and special projects and analyses as necessary
The successful applicant will have
- Bachelor’s in accounting, CPA, and/or advanced degree
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience public or private
- Proven track record of delivering on agreed-upon deadlines
- Comfortable as a Player-Coach - multi-tasking, learning quickly, problem-solving, mentorship
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to build a positive, team-oriented environment
- Ability to work well with a senior management team as well as mentor/lead junior team members.
- M&A experience is a plus
