Position Summary
Position Overview
Assist Head Coach in preparation and conduct of practices and games; assist in recruiting as needed. This is a part-time seasonal position (Aug-Dec).
What will I do in this position?
Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist Head Coach in all areas of practice and game preparation. Assist in scouting and recruiting prospective athletes. Assist in scouting opponents.
- Teach, train and evaluate student athletes
- Assist Head Coach with evaluation and submission of grades for Physical Education credit

What will it take to succeed in this position?
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous collegiate participation and/or coaching experience preferred
- Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate the uniqueness of University of Northwestern to prospective athletes and their parents
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working weekends and traveling with the team to all scheduled events
- Knowledge and understanding of collegiate sport rules and regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
